Living Billboard – Launch Event

On January 14th, the Living Billboard went up in Columbia, South Carolina during the launch event for the state’s brand new donor registry. The Living Billboard concept is based around one simple fact:
Every 11 minutes another person is added to the organ transplant waiting list.
To illustrate this startling statistic, we had a person put up the names of people on the organ transplant waiting list every 11 minutes for the entire day. The billboard is still posted on Gervais St. in downtown Columbia, so drive by and check it out if you’re in the area.
As for the launch event, it was also a great success. Many transplant recipients, people on the waiting list, donor families and South Carolina legislators were present. All of the Columbia television stations were there to help publicize the launch of South Carolina’s new donor registry. Check out some of the pictures from the event.
